Hawthorn here .. just joined.

My first comment is 'looks AWSOME'

My second comment is .. I'm stuck!

I went to the store, setup the free apps in port manager.
I completed the Challenge API
I setup a shitty website.

Now I am stuck!

Some guy said to hack a dorthy .. but when I search the wen for that term, none of the websites open cause everyone is offline!

Okay. I got a lot farther

Okay. I got a lot farther once I saw the video.

The manual is brutal and out of date, I think the world would be a much better place if you took a couple of hours to make a series of how to videos for all the main features.

First Challenge
Setting up watches (took me forever to figure out Port v.s. observed port).

Try Hackstock.hw :)

Go to "Guide" at Hackstock.hw. It may take a few seconds to load (blame the devs for such small file size limits :P) but I have a pretty thorough guide there that contains about 95%+ of most of the information needed to play Hack Wars.

Knowledge is power.
Power corrupts.
Study hard.

Okay .. if its good I will

Okay .. if its good I will vote ..

Hackstock

if it's good, lol. Prepare to be amazed.

Instructional Videos

Hey hey. mecha_cephalon here, one of the new devs. My job is in fact to improve the documentation and make the GUI a little more straightforward. I am currently working on that right now. I wonder whether you would have a preference between flash tutorials or just a straight video - or maybe it makes no difference as long as the information is there.

Would be happy to hear your thoughts.

Video

Videos would be nice in my opinion, just make sure it goes slow and has MAXIMUM detail possible. flash tutorials, can be good, but a good video beats it in my opinion. make sure you have good screen capturing software though.

thanks, and welcome to hackwars

A day in the life of a hackwars moderator.

videos

I would definitely go with the videos, the "first attack" video was very helpful for me and I have always recommended it to new players.
