A Hacktendo website?

I just happened to think of this somewhat awesome idea the other day... What if you took the whole idea of Hacktendo, made it have it's own website, it's own java application, and got an entire community around that one idea. I'm not saying you should take it out of Hack Wars, but maybe you could link what's made on the "Hacktendo" site with Hack Wars somehow, I don't know. The point is, you could have a whole community of people who are interested in making NES-style games, and people who are interested in playing them.

It would also be more accessible to those who just want to try playing some games. I don't know about you or your friends, but if I told some of my friends to sign up/login to Hack Wars just to play a game I made on there, they'd either get lost along the way, or simply wouldn't bother.

You would also probably have to change the name "Hacktendo" to something else, though I'm not sure what that would be. But really, think about it. Imagine a website that you could go to in which you could play tons of games (some may be recreations if it could be done legally and some may be original games), and anyone could make a game or collaborate with others to make a game.

Recently I've been playing around with some NES roms and reading articles like "the top 100 NES games of all time" and such. While in this crazed NES mood, I found a website which actually has 70+ game recreations, which you could download and play on your computer for free. I believe these games will only work on Windows, but in any case, I think it'd be pretty darn cool to have a website with a bunch of NES games playable through a java applet.

Besides that, I love the scripting language, especially when it comes to making a game. So far, I've found that it's much easier than making a game any other way that I can think of. Granted, I'm not exactly a great C++ programmer (can't make any graphical things) but still. I remember about 5 years ago (maybe longer) me and my cousin tried to make a game using GameMaker. I still have a cd with the crazy little creation of ours. It's quite stupid and has only like 5 short levels, and a strange storyline. I'm not sure, I haven't touched it in ages. But if I was serious about making a game, I'd much rather do it in Hacktendo than in Game Maker. GameMaker is really quite confusing, as far as I remember.

Edit: Wow. I just played through this game we made (called TJ Gems). It's ridiculously boring and pointless because there's no monsters or anything, just little platform thingies and little blue gems everywhere. I Lol'ed at the midi music. There's midi versions of The Who, Eminem, and some things I recognized but couldn't think of the names. Oh well, as long as we had fun making it...

So yea, anyway, this is my plea for a Hacktendo website. Whenever you have the time. xD
