This is the work around for the strange, window trail glitch that I know a few of us keep encountering. I honestly had no idea how to fix it. Every time that warning came up about a disabling some 3d java thing I'd click ok apply next restart and it'd never fucking work.
If you have a basic sun java build then the simple fix for this is disable 1.6 and run with just the 1.5 runtime settings.
-Either go to your java icon that appears in the lower right hand corner of the window and select open control panel (the java control panel) or go into the windows control panel and edit the java settings.
-Select the java tab.
-Select view on the Java Applet Runtime Settings.
- Check 1.5.0_06.
- MAKE SURE 1.6.0_11 is checked OFF!
- Hit ok then go to Java Applications Run Time Settings below that (the one for JNLP). This one should be ticked the same but if it's not turn off 1.6 and turn on 1.5 again.
- Hit apply then ok. If you don't hit apply it won't register and you'll have to change the settings again. I don't fucking know why it's the only control panel in the history of modern computers not to understand that ok means close the window AND APPLY the settings.
- Log back into hack wars. You'll most likely get a warning about running an earlier version of java.
- Disco. I'm not even kidding when I say the graphics glitch is not just fixed, the graphics themselves look 110 percent cooler. Don't believe me? Load the script editor and look how much crisp and cool/blue looking that fucker looks.
So far I've found no problems with running 1.5. Let me know if this helps at all.
