A couple days ago, someone approached me about a problem with Hack Wars on the latest Ubuntu (Linux OS). At first I was stumped! Just hours beforehand I was testing Hack Wars on my own Ubuntu and it was fine!
So, I wiped out my entire Ubuntu HDD and did a fresh install. I've done nothing but updates and of course, Java. I was surprised once again when I logged into Hack Wars and found the same shitty, barely loading effects that were described to me before.
I think I have found a solution, at the time of this posting I am uninstalling all Java packages to attempt something a bit different. I will post here again once I figure this out but, the direction I'm headed in is knowing that something about Java's Runtime Environment keeps it from the mainstream Ubuntu package repositories.
Check here in a bit for an update.

I'm not too familiar with Java or Linux/Ubuntu but, from what it looks like, Java's not able to get the images properly which, is probably over half of Hack Wars GUI.

I'm stumped.
I'm not sure how in the hell I was able to run Hack Wars on my Ubuntu but, when I think about the timing, this makes more sense - The current oddball problems with old code "sneaking" into the current build has rendered quite a few things out of whack. This includes Hack Wars running on Ubuntu.
Just a theory but, I'll need someone who's familiar with Java (and preferably the Hack Wars code) to take a look at the error output. Any help would be greatly appreciated by me as well as the few players who can't play on Ubuntu at this time.

Thank you Johnny_Heart!
He's saved the day once again! Once he was made aware of the details for these errors (I just got a screeny until I tested myself), he fixed this issue very quickly!!
So, thanks Johnny_Heart (a.k.a. Ben)

I was using Ubuntu and had a problem with the stats panel on the right. It was really getting on my nerves, couple days ago the update manager came up. One of the updates was Java. I think is was JRE, not sure. I updated it and restart my computer and logined into Hackwars fine and everything look perfect. And there's a another update for it and I'm afraid to do it.
