[edit] Merchanting
Every time you make a deposit to your bank, your Merchanting EXP will increase. As your merchanting level increases, the amount of tax you pay when you buy something from a store, is decreased. At level 5 merchanting you pay 45% tax on every item you buy from stores. At level 100 merchanting you pay 50% less.
To be able to decrease the tax you pay when you make deposits to your bank, you have to use bank scripts that use the mediumDeposit() or higherDeposit() commands.
[edit] Attack
Each time you deal damage to an opponents port, your Attack EXP will increase. The amount of EXP you gain is equal to the damage you deal on a port. EXP is also gained in this skill when your firewalls attack back.
[edit] Redirecting
Redirecting experience is gained by redirecting shipments of commodities off other players and NPCs redirecting ports. You get experience each time a commodity is stolen. The rarer the commodity the more experience you will receive. The commodities in ascending order of difficulty to acquire are: Duct Tape, Germanium, Silicon, YBCO, and Plutonium.

Using the commodities acquired via Redirecting you can repair your AGP cards and PCI cards. You will gain more experience based on the quantity of commodities used to repair and the rarity of the commodities. The commodities required to repair are based upon the rarity of the card.
[edit] Watch
Every time one of your watches are triggered, you gain watch experience points. A higher watch level will allow you to use more advanced watch scripts and allow you to better defend your system from attack.
[edit] Scanning
Every time you scan a player or NPC system, your scanning experience points increase by an amount based on the information you retrieve. If your see just the ports but no firewall information or no default port then you gain 20 exp points. If you see just the default port and open ports you gain 40 exp. If you see all open ports, default ports and firewall you will gain 60 exp. The higher your scanning level is against the player or NPC, the more information you will be able to see when you scan your opponents (i.e. which of their ports has firewalls and which ones are default).
[edit] Firewall
Your firewall experience points are increased when you have a firewall installed on a port that is under attack. The amount of experience you gain is equal to the damage the firewall absorbs each time the port is hit. A higher firewall level will allow you to buy more advanced firewalls from the Hack Wars store.

You get HTTP experience points each time you hack a player's or NPC's http port and change the daily pay target. You also get 500 experience when your website receives votes. A higher HTTP level will allow you to use more advanced commands in the HTTP API.
[edit] Total Level
Your total level is the sum of all your levels (which are mentioned above). A higher total level will allow you to buy more powerful hardware (i.e. CPU, Memory and HDD) in the Hack Wars store.
