Introduction
Your Petty Cash is the money you can spend. Think of it as your pocket cash. You need to have money in your Petty Cash in order to buy things or launch attacks.
Insecure Money
The money in your Petty Cash is insecure. You should only have out as much money as you need in order to do whatever you're trying to do (scan, attack, heal, buy things, etc.). The reason for this is that if somebody hacks your bank port, they can empty your Petty Cash.
Daily Pay
Every day when you collect your Daily Pay, a portion of it is transferred into your Bank and a portion into your Petty Cash. The reason for this is that other hackers can redirect your Daily Pay if they successfully hack your bank port, and if some didn't go into your Bank, you could go broke.
Store Merchants
When you sell something from your website's store, it is deposited into your Petty Cash.
Successfully Hacking an Opponent's Bank Port
Attacking an opponent’s Bank port (either a real player or an NPC) gives you the option of emptying their Petty Cash. The amount of money in an NPC’s petty cash depends on their difficulty and regenerates with each new attack. Currently the easiest NPCs to defeat are the Script Kiddies.
Petty Cash Scripts
After experience is added on, you may use scripts that carry out the "empty petty cash" function, automatically. The script, known as "EmptyPettyCashAttack.bin," requires the bank port to be on, and must not be marked as a dummy port. To make your own script, go to Applications > Script Editor > File > New > Attack Script. Found in the functions page:
| emptyPettyCash() | 15 | $250 | 5 | Finalize | Steals any money in the petty cash of the player being attacked; this only works when the port being attacked is a banking port (must be called when port being attacked is in a weakened state) . |
