How to create a wiki account
Guide created by Silverlight.
For users
The wiki got a sudden increase of spam and we decided to put some more active measures against it. Anon visitors can only read articles. New Accounts can only be created with the help of a sysop (see below).
How to create a new account (User)
- Ask one of the wiki sysops ingame for a wiki account.
- The sysop creates a new account for you and tells you the login data
- Login and change the password. Done.
Problems and Solutions
P: The Sysop says he doesn't know how to create an account.
S: Point him to this site
P: I do not know who the sysops/bureaucrats are.
S: You can find all sysops and bureaucrats on the userlist
However the current active ones are Silverlight, Aoi222, DraconisRavenix, TerribleTrioJoe (To sysops: add yourself if I forgot you)
P: I never meet a sysop ingame.
S: Sorry for that. Try looking on their website. Some have a possibility to leave them a message through their website. In this case it might be wise to add a password to your request.That password should be an intermediate password and not the final password that you are going to use.

How to create a new account
- Receive a wiki account request
- Log into the wiki with your sysop account.

Create a wiki account Special:Userlogin
- username: requester's username
- password: random password (random to avoid the existence of a default password)
- else: empty
- Tell the user their name, password and that they should change their password soon.
Problems and Solutions
P: How to inform the user about the access infos when he is never online?
S: Tricky.
- Wait for him.
- Ask some of the staff to send him an email (if they have access to the db they can look up his registered email address ).
- Put it on your website viewable only by him.
- Tell him how to setup a mailbox for his website
